yesterday i felt compelled and inspired to record these songs that i've been sitting on for a long time. truth be told, I didn't even remember that the one-year mark of lola's passing was soon approaching until later that day. that stroke of inspiration must have been lola's way of telling me she wanted to hear these, lol.

i'm really just offering these up as a gift to my family. these songs have helped me grieve and celebrate the memory of lolo and lola over the past couple days. my hope is that it can help you do the same. i hope that these songs honor lolo and lola's story in such a way that makes them feel close on a day like this.

these are pretty unfinished demos, but i am happy with how they turned out--i would have posted them right away, but as lola always told me, "haste makes waste."

if you're reading this and not part of my family, you're welcome to listen but i'd kindly ask you to refrain from downloading these mp3's for now. i'm hoping to record these again someday, and i really just wanted to upload these songs at this time as a gift to my family on this day of remembering our lola.

while i ultimately love to share music with the world, this one is a little personal and my intent is to keep it rather private--at least in terms of having copies of these tunes. (it was just more complicated to make it a proper "private" release and have to send out individual download codes).

here's to you lolo and lola, i wish i could have mailed you these songs on cd so you wouldn't have to listen to my old youtube videos and chapel recordings anymore lol.

thanks for teaching us how to love, to laugh, to feast, to celebrate, and to hold one another when times get rough.
